TigeRPaw had expressed an interest in Space Skilling, some time ago she did warp the ship see Warps: Rocktropia – Crystal Palace – Next Island so is not a complete novice however this was about two and a half years ago.
We took my Quad from the surface of Calypso to the Space Station and then onto Crystal Palace where from the Hanger we TP’d aboard, the ship being positioned too close to the asteroid to permit a direct transfer from the Quad.
From here TigeRPaw piloted the ship from dock to the Training Grounds while listening to my very basic instructions, once Horrors were spotted I stayed in a turret while she collected the first two before going to the repair stations. TigeRPaw collect five in total and once there were no more skills to be had was talked through positioning the ship ready for them to be killed, which was done successfully.
TigeRPaw repeated this without any further instruction, there was a hiccup in that I took a phone call that I could not hurry and we ended up with a little more than five Horrors and a ship very close to blowing from either repair point but we managed it. Unfortunately this did take quite a lot of time during which TigeRPaw gained no skills but some experience.
We went through the process a third time, this time eight Horrors were collected, drained and killed. After repairs I took the ship back to Crystal Palace while TigeRPaw was in Engineering and later in a turret.
The whole session lasted about one and three quarter hours and even resulted in a small profit. At Crystal Palace we went our separate ways. TigeRPaw may join us for Space Skilling Saturday once in a while.

I arrive in time and prepare the ship, both Nocturaline and Wolta are on-line. For some reason I am carrying 300 PED of animal liver oil, I thought that was in storage on Crystal Palace! Oh well as I’m already on the ship when I find this I inform the crew we will need to be careful tonight. Just as we are about to leave I get dumped and have to reconnect. Wolta takes us out and we begin at 1856.
Wolta’s hour:- Nocturaline and I are dumped towards the end of Wolta’s hour, big lag before and after. 58 PED global on the very last kill. Wolta reports good skill gains.
Kills: 14 + 16 + 8
Cee’s hour:- Ntina joins about 10 minutes into my hour. Loot fell off as the session progressed. Didn’t notice particularly good skills.
Kills: 21 + 20
Nocturaline’s hour:- Reports not many Horrors, shortly after we are struggling in Engineering.
Kills: 20 + 14
Nocturaline returns us to the Space Station where she and Wolta disembark, Phil and Ntina stay aboard but log and seeing as we did global I warp the ship to Next Island where I TP to the surface and store the Animal Liver Oil and the loot won this session.

MA even let me deposit this week! I arrive way ahead of schedule but still very full from dinner so I’m quite slow preparing. Last week I decided just to record the number of kills in each session and only include globals in the extra detail, I shall continue with that. Expecting Ntina, a new Drop Zone crew member this week. Once in space I again cannot see the ship and it’s not where I left it, a little hunting around and I see it and then re-position it ready for SSS.
Wolta’s hour:- Quite busy in Engineering, nothing to report.
Kills: 29.
Cee’s hour:- Starfinder XV spotted. I reset my timer in error so ask Nocturaline to act as time keeper. Ntina joins while I am in a turret the second time. Lots of auto-loot auto-lag!
Kills: 34
Nocturaline’s hour:- reports a lack of Horrors at the start of the hour.
Kills: 35

In spite of me running late I arrive in good time and prepare the ship. Nocturaline and Phil have returned from shore leave and Nocturaline has had a good run on Skyfall today. After a brief discussion we decide to try them, Nocturaline gives Wolta the coordinates and we leave the station for a sub-warp journey of about 25 minutes, I sit in the top turret until we are clear of the Space Stations then head to repair in readiness. Kahlan arrives en route and has a dog related disconnect just as we engage the Skyfall at 1828.
Wolta’s hour:- kills 23 for a 20 PED loot. Reports that noise follows the ship and more that 2% gain in Captain, hoping to get level 20 next week.
Cee’s hour:- kills 33 for a 48 and 49 PED loots, so close! Skills seemed low and there was lag induced rubber banding.
Nocturaline’s hour:- kills 35 for a 13 and a 12 PED loot. Nocturaline suffers a crash and was worried the ship might blow, we did have some close calls but I don’t think that was one of them. Reports a gain of 1.69% on captain without skill pills. Nocturaline returns us to Crystal Palace by which time I was struggling to remain conscious.
A loss of 27 PED and a return of 92%.
